Grains of Thought
In my post of 6th February I wrote about my book "A Grain of Rice".
The second edition of this book, in English, has now been published with some minor amendments to the first edition, and a Portuguese language edition has also been published.
I guess the most important message included in the new editions is as follows:
What type of world do we leave behind for our children? What have we done to make the world a better place?
Not everyone has the time or the money to personally help in eradicating poverty. But we can all do a bit.
According to the United Nations "Globally, more than 800 million people are still living on less than $1.25 a day with many lacking access to adequate food, clean drinking water and sanitation."
This simple booklet is designed to deliver a simple message. Every grain of rice counts. Wasted food is food taken from the mouths of starving folk.
Profits from the sale of this book go toward the fight against famine.
Hungry children don't understand why they have no food; or when the pain of hunger will go away. They cry not knowing when the tears will stop flowing. If ever!
